BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Modern circular vertical south-facing dial.
This takes advantage of circular porthole-like features of the building to frame a delightful sundial. The dial has white embossed vertical Roman hour numbers and date (1982) on a grey ground. Hour and half hour lines from 6am to 6pm are incised into the dial.
The thin rod gnomon has a single straight supporter.
Although the dial is delineated and the gnomon made for a direct south-facing location, this wall declines significantly to the west.
A plaque nearby gives details of the architects of this development.
The dial is almost identical to SRN 3860 which is on the next building south of this one.
