BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Leics & Rutland

War Memorial dial. Motto reads: ’The shadow falls - light remains’. Aligned Roman numerals read from inside V - XII - IV - VII, with no noon gap, divided to half and quarter hours. Knife-edged gnomon, with the toe at the centre of the plate. Mounted on concrete octagonal pedestal with circular capital marked : ’We Will Remember’ and on the south and east faces, 1914-1918, and 1939-1945. Restored 1920, and again, by J Davis, in 2006. The side support block to the gnomon is inscribed ’J D 2006’.
