BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Devon

Motto reads: "Grandit? Umbra Lux Permanet". Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 7.5 min marks. Uses XII and IV. Numerals read from outside the chapter ring. Date given is 1793 though this must be suspect. Motto is above date. Four hole fixing. Pierced gnomon of old design. Having scalloped rear edge and two holes. Set with countersunk wood screws on a circular stone disc on an older short stone cylindrical pedestal.
