BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Northumberland

Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 7.5, 5 and 1 min marks. Numerals read from inside the chapter ring. Uses XII and III. Outward pointing fleurs de lys half hour markers with corresponding flower motifs on outside. ’Cotton reel’ scrolls at end of time scales. Split noon mark. Pierced and slightly bent gnomon. Design Lat given as 55 degs. Inscribed ’William Ellison Esq Mayor 1711, Ralph Reed Esq Sheriffe’.
