BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Market Hill, Calne

Located at the rear of the building overlooking the car park, the dial is visible from Castle Street. Initials AE IE (possible owners?) and date are over the dial. The house is now used for solicitor’s offices. Some stone has broken away. The dial declines 2 degrees W and shows 7am to 6pm [6:15 to 6:15], in half hour intervals. Interesting scalloped gnomon underedge.
