BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary & St Hardulph Church, Breedon on the Hill

The dial is made from Swithland slate, and is fitted to the stonework above and to the right hand side of the entrance to the church, supported by three iron dog nails. The lower left corner is chipped. The date is across the top. There is a full sun face on a large rectangle at gnomon root. Hours are VI - XII - IV - VI, read from ’inside’ the dial, even along the bottom line. Hour lines run to the sun face plate, and there is a split noon line. Half and quarter hours are marked, the halves with ’bud’ décor or possibly fleurs de lys. The elegant gnomon supporter is partly rusted away. Thomas Woodcock was paid six shillings for the dial. See also the very similar SRN 5101 at Leicester, and SRN 7982 at Newtown Linford, all three being within a few miles of each other.
