BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Sussex (E)

The motto on the right hand side reads: ’Carpe Diem’, but an inscription at the bottom is illegible. The dial face has black metal numerals and lines inset into mortar. The motto, an EoT graph at the top, and a lengthy explanation in the centre left of the dial, are in white paint. The dial shows 12 noon to 6pm in half hours, with 11.30 am marked by ’1/2’. There is a strip metal gnomon. The dial is overshadowed by eaves until 11.30. Companion dial to SRN 4423
