BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is set in a neat paved area with stone seats near the south-east corner of church. It was a local Millennium project.
It has a flat hour ring in the equatorial plane with hour marks embossed on the inner edge and with leaf décor on south side. Roman numerals are embossed on the upper face to show the time from 3am to 9pm . The hours are not subdivided and noon is XII and both fours are IV.
The undecorated gnomon rod is supported by a north-south meridian ring and by a half ring running east-west. The whole is set on a square section reconstituted stone pedestal with panelled sides and an Equation of Time scale on a plaque set onto the top. It was unveiled by Dr Margaret Stanier, on behalf of the BSS.
