BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Village Green, Haslingfield

The dial is laid out in the grass of the village green close to the High Street. The 1,860 mm long month-stone is marked with all the months, ’AD 2000’ and the Latitude and Longitude. There are rectangular stone hour markers with Roman numerals from 7am to 7pm. The numbers are an hour ahead of sun-time for use when BST applies. A plaque giving instructions and the Equation of Time is fixed to the step on the nearby village sign. The EoT graph is a figure of eight analemma which additionally gives the sun’s declination at any date. Ref: BSS Bulletin 12 (iii) Oct 2000 p 125.
