BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
At crossing of paths in rose garden. Motto reads: "Sunny Hours". Dial loose and not aligned. Décor is of two dragons/cockerels. Compass centre is below gnomon root. Hour lines not aligned to gnomon root. Gnomon may therefore be an incorrect replacement. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30,15 and 7.5 min marks. Time rings are inside the Chapter ring. Outer ring of decorative ticks. Numerals set to be read from outside the dial. Split noon. Uses XII & IIII. Four hole fixing. Gnomon with round finial and unusual curved supporter. Mounted on low (600h) square section pedestal with square rounded-edge capital. Wreath on each face of pedestal. Whole aligned to path and not to North.
