BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hertfordshire

The motto reads: "I only count your sunny hours". The dial is unusually mounted on a metal sub-base which is pre-mounted on the capital. It is cast rather than engraved, and has a false date of 1661. It was possibly installed in the 1930s though whether it is that old is doubtful. It shows 4am to 8pm in quarter hours and uses IIII & XII, the numerals read from outside the dial. It is on a circular section pedestal 1100h with a circular capital 310 diam. It records Alicia Wilson d 1933 & Wm Wilson & wife both d 1937.
