BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Barton Mere, Great Barton

Gardens open under NGS and the dial is in front of the house overlooking the mere. It is mounted on a circular stone baluster pedestal (1000h) with square capital and plinth. The whole pedestal is cracked vertically. Floral pattern for compass points. Side supporters to gnomon. Noon gap. XII for Noon and IIII for 4am and pm. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30,10 and 2 min intervals on the circumference and 30 and 15 intervals on an inner ring. Arabic Nos mark the tens. Half hour lines marked by lozenges. The maker’s name is engraved to be viewed from the North.
