BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

West Green house; on parterre., West Green

The gardens are open on certain days from May to September. Fine hand-engraved dial. Floral centre with 16pt Comp, EoT ring watch faster/slower. Solar and Equal days ring. Roman Nos but Arabic Nos for mins. Coat of Arms not recognised. Shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 10, 7.5, 5 and 1 min marks. Noon gap. Uses XII & IIII. Inward fleur de lys and outward triple arrowhead half hour markers. Provenance suspect as guidebook shows different dial. Gnomon angle 50d30m. Approx. Mounted on head of blackamoor figure plinth 1270h. Formerly at Slindon House, [Lat 50d 52m] & restd in 1970s. Misaligned in 2000. Ref: BSS Bull 97.1 pp 34-36.
