BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Motto reads: "Umbra fic (or sic) -----". Dial currently (2000) kept indoors for safety. Compass ring not a rose, latitude 53d 25m, dial built for latitude near Liverpool. Furniture is around 3 concentric rings centred on gnomon base. Shows 4am to 8pm, in 1 minute intervals - others not recorded. Multiple ’S’ scroll gnomon supporter. Four hole fixing on a square section, tapered, stone pedestal 1200h with incised inner border on ea face, square capital designed for larger dial. Square plinth too small for pedestal.
