BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Aylesford Priory (2), Aylesford

This is one of two sundials at Aylesford Priory. This dial is located on the lawn adjacent to the residence. The motto around the outer circumference reads: ’Seize the present moment, the evening hour is nigh’. The hours are marked from 4am to 8pm in 30, 15 and 7.5 min intervals and there is an 8 point compass. It is mounted on a slender circular section ’turned’ stone pedestal with a combination wood and stone circular capital and a stepped, square stone plinth. This is a better quality mass produced dial but the gnomon is missing.
