BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dorset

The dial stands on the lawn, mounted on a banded cylindrical stone pedestal 920h on a circular brick base. An inscription commemorates the gift of the dial by the widow of a School Governor. An elaborate dial, slightly damaged in 2000. The seven main rings are complemented by an extended ecliptic ring on which is engraved an EoT scale (which does not include longitude correction) and two zodiac rings on either side of it. No use is made of the nodus except when its shadow reaches the tropic rings. Shows 6am to 6pm in quarters.
