BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Warwickshire

The dial is kept inside with reception. Mottoes read: ’Noli Confidere Nocti and ’Ferro Comite’. The latter also is the motto of the Coat of Arms. The gnomon has a nodus, and there are declination lines for 8 dates including solstices, equinoxes, an Easter band and a commemorative date of 7 June. There is a 16-point compass. An EoT graph includes 6 minutes 20 seconds longitude correction. There are Zodiac names and signs, the names of 13 cities, the maker, the date, the Lat/Long, and images of the Hall, Chapel and Coat of Arms. Polaris is shown on the gnomon and instructions are in the north-west corner of the dial. The octagonal time scale shows 5am to 7pm in 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes. The gnomon has elaborate side supporters. The dial marks FW Staples as the first Chief Executive of Walton Hall Members Ltd in 1991.
