BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St John the Baptist Church, South Carlton

The dial is mounted on the south wall of the tower, canted out on the right to face south, and with an ornamental flattened peak at top. A motto in small lettering across the top reads: "Redeem the Time". Some characters can be seen in the semicircle around the gnomon root but they are unclear. They may have been ’53 25’ for the latitude, or possibly the date of the dial. The gnomon has an unusual double loop supporter, and may have been renewed. Hours shown are VI - noon - IIII - VI, with a Greek cross for noon, and are divided to half and quarter hours.
