BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Alton Barnes

The dial is about 16’ up on the SW quoin of the nave, and not easy to see. The church has an Anglo-Saxon foundation with the chancel rebuilt in brick in 1748 and the dial may date from then. The setting is delightful. No numerals or half hour lines. Shows 6am to 6pm in hours. The top left section is damaged by an iron support. The gnomon is missing.
