BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary the Virgin’s Church, Chipping Norton

Vertical south-facing dial set in the parapet over the porch. The dial is canted toward the west relative to the wall in order to face due south. We do not have details of the dial markings - they are not legible in our photograph so are probably invisible from the ground. The gnomon has an interesting S-shaped gnomon supporter. The dial is mentioned by Mee in his ’King’s England’ series.
