BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Inner Garden, Danby

A horizontal dial in the centre of the Inner Garden as a memorial to Harry Young, supporter of the working community and a benefactor of the inner garden. It is set on a square sandstone pedestal with an octagonal plinth on circular paving. An inscription reads ’To see a world in a ray of sun and heaven in a wild flower; Hold infinity in the palm of the hand and eternity in an hour’ (adapted from W Blake).
