BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Wulfran’s Church, Ovingdean

The dial is in the churchyard, south-east of the chancel, by a path. It shows 4am to 8pm in hours. The current dial is cast with raised markings. An earlier dial reported by Gatty (No 491), was c 480 diam and had the motto: "Shadows cast upon the dial show; The presence of the sun above; Shadows cast upon our life below; True tokens are that God is Love, April 6, 1882". Fine stone octagonal section pedestal 970h stands on octagonal plinth 970 a/f.
