BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is set on a stone pedestal in the main lawn. The motto at the south reads: ’I mark but the hours of / sunshine’, and above that is the signature ’H Ben, London’. It uses IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from the inside, divided to 30, 15 and 7.5 minutes, and at the centre is an 8-point compass rose, labelled to NE etc. The National Trust site says the dial is made of lead.
