BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hereford & Worcester

In the south-east quarter of the churchyard mounted on an old cross base is a brass horizontal dial with an iron gnomon. - not a combination to be recommended. It shows the hours IIII - VIII divided into halves, quarters and intervals of 5 minutes. Inward pointing dot-ended lines mark half hours.The hour lines go through numerals. Numerals read from outside the chapter ring. Split noon line. The very rusty gnomon has a single supporter with a broadened foot. It is correctly set at an angle of 52° There are the churchwardens’ names, C Wilson & J Davies and an 8-point compass rose. The dial plate is circular, 220mm in diameter but with decorative projections at the four cardinal points. On chamfered square column and two steps, 1680mmh.
