BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dumfries & Galloway

An inscription at the base reads: ’He until midsummer then she until midwinter show noon Greenwich Mean Time.’ There is a sculpture of two children leaning over the wall above the dial plate. The noduses for the two noon mark analemmas are the tip of a leaf held by the boy and a hole in the clenched fist of the girl. A most unusual mark. The dial was the winner of the BSS Awards Scheme 2000, Amateur Class.
