BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is in the herb garden at rear of the house. The EOT ring is marked ’Equation of Natural Days’. Hours IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from outside, with noon gap, divided to 30, 10 and 5 minutes, with the 20, 40 and 60 minute points shown in Arabic numerals, and the half hours with fleur-de-lys. There is a 16-point compass rose at the centre, labelled to NNE etc. The motto ’Carpe Diem’ is in the chapter ring at the gnomon toe point. The dial is inscribed with probably ’F Watkins, London’, but it is badly worn and the name has also been reported as T Watkins. It is mounted on a circular section ringed baluster pedestal with circular top and square plinth, set on 4 flagstones.
