BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Little Coxwell

Rectangular vertical south-facing dial on the double bellcote on the centre of the church. The dialplate is canted to the left in order to face due south. It is in poor condition but full length hour lines, half hour marks and Roman hour numerals can just be made out. The rather crude numerals are read from outside the dial and use IIII at 4pm. The thin gnomon is now rusted but seems undamaged. The dial is mounted on a rare late 13th Century double bellcote. Note that Little Coxwell, like several villages around it, used to be in Berks. To get to the church, take the footpath to the right of the row of thatched cottages. Ref: Victoria County History of Berks.
