BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Stellenbosch Church, Western Cape, South Africa

Dial is from St Mary’s Alverstoke, Hants which was reconstructed in 1885 at which time it was removed by J Philip Legg (then Rector of Stellenbosch), in remembrance of his parents who are buried in Alverstoke. It is now in the North wall of the SA church. Hampshire records show it originally cost £4 15s 0d and that the names of the Churchwardens - written in the break arch - are Humphry Newdick Abraham and Richard Curry. Seen by Chris Silcock, Bursar of Westminster School, London in December 2006. Reported by Maureen Harmer Oct 2014 to have been white-washed over, but it appears to be undamaged.
