BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Peter’s Church, Cornwell

Rectangular vertical dial. Note that Cornwell Manor is a private estate. Public access to the church is on foot only, we believe. It is to the north east of the village. The dial is prominently placed over the porch door. It is built in to the wall but is made of several stones, apparently carved in situ. There are full length hour lines and short half hour ticks inside the chapter ring. The deeply engraved Roman hour numerals, from 7am to 5pm, are approximately aligned with the hour lines. There is a cross patty at noon and IIII at 4pm. Above the dial is the motto: ’Fugit Hora’ [Time flies]. Unfortunately, the gnomon has been replaced with a piece of iron with entirely the wrong shape rendering the dial unusable. The dial is currently shaded by trees except in early morning. There is some evidence of cemented repairs.
