BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Priory (1), Stoke by Nayland

Motto reads: "Love thou the light, the darkness ????. Both sun and shadow are essential here". Motto is arranged around the base in copperplate writing. Initials are those of owner, FHAE. Rings not arranged ’astronomically’. Arrow gnomon, no nodus. Shows 6am to 6pm in half hours. Mounted on square brick pedestal with square stone top and plinth.
