In the Pocock Garden is a multiple dial made in 1998 by D.M.Brown and based on Hegge’s drawing of Kratzer’s dial at Corpus Christi College. It won the design competition set up by Christ Church in 1997. It is of stone with gnomons of phosphor-bronze and measures 300mm wide x 500mm deep x 1150mm high. All the eleven dials have Arabic numerals. The direct south dial has a gilded sunburst at the gnomon root and carries the date. The dial also contains ther maker’s name, a dedication to Miss Joan Page, the latitude and longitude and an Equation of Time scale corrected for longitude.
