BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Dial House, Canterbury

The dial is fixed to the wall of Dial House in Old Dover Road opposite Randolph Close. The wall declines 58 degrees west, and bears the date 1694. The motto reads: ’Sunny Houres’. The hours on the chapter ring, that has scrolls at each end, are shown from 11am to 9pm in half hours. The Roman numerals use the form XII and IIII and the hour lines extend through the numerals. There is no ’noon’ gap for the bar gnomon that has a straight supporter. The gnomon root is surrounded by three concentric semicircles.
