BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Vertical dial, formerly on Heath House, with interesting inscriptions. The dial is cracked and almost unreadable but shows 6am to 7pm in half hours. The motto reads: "Ut Umbra Sic Vita Fugit". Inscriptions refer to time being 6 minutes faster for London, Latitude 51 Deg 12 Minutes, Declination 9 Deg West, Longitude 11 Deg 29 Minutes and the date of May 19th 1833. The gnomon is a replacement. The dial, made by William Heath, comes from Heath House, replaced by Savoy in 1937. The Savoy cinema closed in 2001 and now houses a nightclub called Life.
