BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Motto reads: "Mox Nox". Dial is a replacement for an earlier (1848) dial. Set in the centre crenellation above the south porch. Gold lettering on blue slate ground. 14pt half sun at gnomon root, Shows 8am to 6pm in quarter hours. Quarter hour lines are surmounted by dots. Dates are 1848 and 1971. A slate plate inside the church records that the dial is a memorial to churchwarden Richard Nigel Hanbury (1911 - 1971) and ends ’D. K. Sculpt’ but it is not clear if this refers to the memorial panel or to the dial (or both). The dial does not look typical of the work of David Kindersley.
