BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Nicholas’ Church, Elmdon

Stained glass vertical sundial in east window of south asle. Mottoes read: ’Sic Vita’ and ’Nulla Dies Sine Linea’ (Such is life; No day without its mark). Dial rescued in 1958 from the redundant St Dunstan’s Church in Wenden Lofts nearby. Gnomon support holes are intact. Shows 6am to 6pm in quarter hours with (lozenge ended) half hour lines and quarters marked by B&W banding. Fly motif rebus in centre, Nine star half sun at gnomon’s root, hourglass at top, foliage at sides. Yellow and grey glass with black lines and numerals. Now in window with 3 other refugee glasses from St Dunstan’s. A modern replica has been made at Mistley, Essex (SRN 6748).
