BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Gloucestershire

The dial is mounted on a stone, cylindrical carved pedestal set on a square base on a circular surround, in a rose garden to the east of the house. The pedestal has an octagonal top with a circular mount. Light patination and embossed furniture suggests the dial may be cast alloy. It shows 4am to 8pm in half hours, the numerals read from outside the dial. The hour lines may be shorter than half hour ones, and they do not point to the gnomon root. The sheet gnomon is cut out to leave a fat ’S’ supporter, and the style is curved. There is a shell pattern in a ring and on either side of the gnomon.
