BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The dial is over an archway to farm behind Arms. The motto reads: "Sic Transit Gloria Mundi" [Thus passes the glory of the world]. The gnomon root is at the centre of a sun motif. The scrolled gnomon supporter is in good condition, though gnomon itself may be slightly displaced to the east by the dial plate cracks. The dial shows 6am to 6pm in 15 minutes, with half hours marked by fleur de lys.
