BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Andrew’s Church, Sonning

Semicircular dial cut into the stone of the south-west buttress of the church. The dial declines 23 degrees east of south so can be used before 6am but not after about 5pm. The hour lines and numerals show 4am to 4pm; hours only. The 4am hour line is above the horizontal, so could never actually be needed. The numerals are arranged around the semicircular chapter ring and aligned with the hour lines. They use IV, not the more common IIII. There is a semicircle around the gnomon root. Note that the gnomon foot is vertical but the gnomon is not perpendicular to the dial as it is in the north-south plane. The gnomon appears to be mounted too low as the hour lines converge some distance above it. The stone surface is spalling and it seems some lines have been re-engraved inaccurately (8 and 9am lines appear wrong).
