BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Arundel Castle, Arundel

The dial stands on a low stone plinth, the top stone eroded, in the quadrangle lawn. It is a fine dated geographical dial by Jeremiah and Walter Watkins. There is a 32-point compass rose at the centre, fully labelled. EOT scales labelled ’Aequation of Natural Days’, with all days shown and correction to whole minutes. World-wide place names in the chapter ring. Inner side of chapter ring divided to half, quarter and eighth hours, with half hour fleur-de-lys, outer side divided to minutes, labelled at every 10. Solid gnomon with rectangular chamfered side supporters.
