BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Oxfordshire

Scribed copper dialplate and wire gnomon with large ’S’ shaped wire supporter. Shows 6am to 6pm in half hours. VI, XII, IV and VI are vertical, rest aligned with hour lines. III pm is wrongly marked as IIII. Semi circle at gnomon root from which hour lines emanate. Half hour lines are half length inwards with diamond and dot ending. Four hole fixing at low height. May have been made by owner’s grandfather and may have been delineated for the latitude of Yorkshire.
