BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Town Hall, Athy

The dial is inscribed: "To commemorate the founding of Macra na Feirne in 1944 and the establishment of its first National Headquarters in Athy Town Hall". It stands on a massive square section stone plinth 600 x 600mm, decorated with harvest scenes. A small EoT graph is engraved on the south side of the dial plate, with a statement that local time is 24 mins behind GMT.
