BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Copt Hall is two miles west of Epping, in a part of Epping Forest known as St Thomas’s Quarters. The dial is high on the west facing pediment of the Hall, and has figures of Mother & Father Time. The motto reads: "Me Umbra Regit vos Lumen". Shows time 2pm to 8pm in 15 and 30 mins. Copt Hall was ruined by fire in 1917 and has never been rebuilt. Dial appears from photograph to decline North slightly.
