BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church (1), Masham

The dial over the porch has a very worn dialplate. Would have shown 6am to 6pm. Now only 8am to 3pm visible with half hours. Uses XII. Full length hour and half hour lines. A third of the dialplate is above horizon line so leaving space for a motto or inscription. However, no trace now remains. Remains of gnomon still present. A writer in 1908 stated that the date 1683 was visible, and this has been taken here. Ref: Frank Trowell, NADFAS, Jan 2014.
