BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (N)

The alms houses are by the side of the B6165, and the dial is in the gardens. The motto reads: "Watch and Pray". There is an EoT with tables of corrections - watch fast/slow. Dial indicates time 4am to 8pm in 1, 2, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minute intervals. It is mounted on a square topped stone plinth with "Cloudy Day"; "Look Above"; "Sunny Day"; "Always" inscribed in relief on the base. The gnomon has an ’S’ shaped supporter.
