Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

The dial is in the convent garden, mounted on a low brick plinth. It is a memorial to a former employee, and is inscribed ’In memory of the Buck family’ and dated ’1904 - 1919’ . It has aligned Roman numerals, read from the inside, IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with hour lines only. The noon line is on the diagonal of the plate. The gnomon has a knife-edge style, and has a gold coloured sphere on its tip.
