BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Painted House, Bourton-on-the-Water

The dial is in the garden to west of the house. The motto reads: "Time Tryeth Troth". Rose pattern around the 4 screw holes. Visible from road. It bears the date 1660 but is probably an early 20th century dial. 8-point compass rose labelled to NE etc. Roman numerals for 4am to 8pm divided to 5 minute intervals, with split noon. Square section bulb pedestal, with the dial fitted diagonally to the top stone.
