BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, St Mary

The dial is under he eaves on the south side of the Church. It had some damage at top centre but this appears to be restored and the dial to have been cleaned by 2001. Slightly canted west to face south. The dial was provided in 1762 by Thomas Nicolle as part of an agreement to settle a dispute over the alteration of a pew. Motto reads: ’Ut umbra sic vita 1763’.
