BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Hampton is owned by the National Trust for Jersey and is operated by Jersey Heritage. It is usually open to the public during the Summer months and NT members from the UK are welcome without charge. It was placed there during restoration work around 1990 wwhen it was found on the south side of the central chimney (although this is thought unlikely to be its original site). The semi-circular dial has four ’ears’ around its periphery with a truncated triangular panel at its base. A small circle surrounds the gnomon root which is centred on a double-lined cross. The date 1640 is at the top of the dial. The hours from 6am to 6pm are shown using Roman numerals with XII for noon and IIII for 4. If visiting the site it might be worth calling to see a similar dial on at Lawrence Church SRN 3843.
