BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Lawrence’s Parish Church, St Lawrence

The sundial is mounted high above the south transept door. It shows 6am to 6pm in hours. Semicircle and cross at gnomon root. Numerals are incised and are Roman but with the ’X’ character sometimes replaced by a crossed ’Y’. The 6am numeral is strangely engraved. Copper rod gnomon with single strut support. The dial was thought to have been found during restoration of the Church in the 1890s. In 1933 it was donated by a private individual to the Société Jersiaise who retained it until 1977 when it was given back to the Church. It was placed on the South transept wall in June 1978.
