BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Samares Manor, St Clement

Samares Manor is open to paying visitors from April to October. The sundial, on a stone baluster pedestal with an octagonal plinth, is in the gardens to the west of the house. Only one half of the circular dial plate remains. It is made from two layers of roofing slates divided along the line of gnomon. It is a 1970s replacement that was copied from the worn out slate original by a Mr Ahearn (a retired shipwright). The markings are indistinct but appear to be divided down to 7.5 minutes. The bronze gnomon has an ’S’ Shaped supporter.
